Jean Louis David's Autumn-Winter 2016 hair colouring techniques

This winter, Jean Louis David is giving pride of place to three techniques to boost your hair colour. Coming up: a sun-kissed effect, a blond Ombré technique and a lightening treatment which plays with different depths.

The Sunlight treatment for a sunkissed look

The Sunlight treatment is a lightening treatment which consists of mimicking a sun-kissed sheen on your hair, whatever its colour. To get this result, the colourist will layer and mix different tones to ramp up your highlights whilst keeping the roots darker than the tips.

Why go for this treatment? Because this technique allows you to boost your colour, without having to constantly touch up your roots. At home, use products specifically designed for coloured hair (such as colour enhancers). At the salon, go for the Colour Therapy treatment to revive your highlights.

The Overlight technique for a blond Ombré effect

Specifically designed for blonds and bob styles, this colouring technique optimises the way the hair reflects light. To apply the Overlight treatment, the colourist will work strand by strand and will combine three exclusive techniques to get different shades of blond from the roots down to the tips. The colourist starts by reviving your hair's highlights and shine by applying a Gloss treatment (a temporary colouring treatment) to the roots and mid-lengths. They will then apply a 2-in-1 treatment to the mid-lengths to accentuate the blond Ombré effect. Finally, the colourist will lighten the tips with a technique called a Contrast treatment.

Why go for this treatment? The Overlight treatment is the perfect solution to prevent your blond from fading. The colour layering effect is full of shine and gives a natural finish.

Perfect with the Boy Cut, this colouring service adds different depths to your haircut with a two-stage technique (first colouring the hair and then lightening a few strands). The colourist will create highlights which will catch the light, boost shine and set off your haircut. This personalised treatment suits light to dark colour bases, on long and short hair.

Why go for this look? To revive your colour and enhance your haircut.
