“I’m the backcombing queen” : Héloise, 31

Your look? Edgy. I don’t like the idea of wearing the same clothes as everyone else. Comfort and originality are my two main criteria when it comes to shopping. Well, if you can call it shopping! I’m one of those people who tends to root around in second-hand clothes shops or rifle through their friends’ and sisters’ wardrobes. I try to find potential in clothes that have been forgotten at the back of a wardrobe… So I guess you could say I like to recycle fashion!

Your style? I’ve had long hair since I was a teenager. And apart from the colour, nothing has changed since! I still have thick, dry hair. I try to look after it and improve it, but I find it hard to stick to things. So I often have damaged ends… This isn’t very attractive I know, but I don’t seem to make it to my hairdresser’s as much as I would like. I just forget! But I do remember to apply a hydrating treatment to my ends once a week to limit the damage.

Your style today? My natural hair colour is chestnut, but I absolutely love highlights. I find that this type of colour treatment suits me perfectly as it requires less upkeep than a classic, all-over colour. My highlights, which are close to white blonde, really enhance my hair, which I like to backcomb to give myself a bit of extra height, as I often wear my hair up. And there’s nothing better than a bit of backcombing to give your hairstyle that something extra. Once I’ve backcombed my hair, I tie it all up into a huge chignon. I like to think that this gives me an extra inch!
