I have a brunette base color, can I opt for highlights?

Thanks to their luminous and natural finish, highlights instantly boost your color’s shine. Discover if this technique is suitable for brown hair, how to adopt and maintain it.

Why choose highlights?

Because they enhance all hair types with ultra-luminous tones. They correspond to a Contrast at Jean Louis David. Highlights consist of making your hair partially lighter or darker. All of the shades created blend into your hair and enhance it giving it luminosity. But not just that! Highlights are also perfect for emphasizing a haircut by giving it movement, relief and depth.

Which color streaks should I adopt?

You can of course opt for highlights on brown hair! However, always choose a shade one or two tones lighter than your base color in order to get an elegant result. To add light, opt for auburn, mahogany or copper-colored highlights. Hazelnut colored highlights are perfect. As for very dark hair, go for chocolate color highlights to revive its shine. Finally, if you wish to have a radical change, choose classic coloring.

How do I maintain my highlights?

As highlighting is subtle temporary coloring, it doesn’t require much upkeep. It evolves very well by fading gradually when you shampoo your hair. Therefore, pamper your colored hair with products from the Color Therapy range and you will preserve your beautiful highlights over time. Finally, visit your hairdresser every three months for touch-ups on your hair as it grows.
