How to style your fringe at the beach

Those of you who wear a fringe usually fall into one of two categories in summer: those who decide to sweep it to the side to stop it bothering you and those who decide to make the most of it since it is an integral part of your look. Here’s some advice on how to style it at the beach.

Pull it back. This option is suitable for people with a long fringe. Before heading to the beach, tie your hair into a bun or a ponytail to protect it from the sun and the sand. Then fix your fringe using a hair slide or a headband. This will reveal your forehead and you’ll no longer have to deal with a fringe that heads skywards in the heat!

Sweep it to the side. Instead of pulling your fringe back or wearing it loose, opt for the “side fringe“. This is one of the easiest ways to wear the fringe. Before you head to the beach, get it under control and dry it to the side you wish to wear it on. A side fringe reveals your forehead and stops you from getting too hot. It is easier to style and control whatever the time or place. If your fringe won’t stay in place, give it a helping hand with a hair slide to keep it on the right side.

Making the most of it. For some of you, your fringe is an integral part of your hairstyle and overall look, and you’re not ready to sacrifice it, even for a few hours at the beach! However, it is worth knowing that not many fringes cope well with heat and water: they tend to puff up and become hard to style. The best thing to do is get it under control before you head out to the beach. Once you’ve dried your hair and given your fringe the movement you’re after, spray hairspray across it to help it stay in place all day. And avoid putting your head under water!
