How to create more hold with your fine hair

Struggling to style your fine hair? Or are you simply dreaming of perfectly styled lengths that stay put all day? Luckily, our pro is revealing how it’s done…

Jean Louis David has created a range specifically designed for fine hair types. ‘This is the Volume Therapy collection which includes Soft and Tone Shampoo, Lightness and Density Treatment as well as the Texture & Hold Foamer. These products are ideal for giving your hair more volume as well as making sure your style stays in place all day long thanks to their starch-rich formula which swells the hair shaft, making it instantly thicker’.

Texturizing products are also your best friend. ‘You should select a formula which suits your hair the most. Mousses are perfect for adding bulk to your style and should be applied to damp hair for optimum results. Hairspray is another good option when used during styling; simply spray at the roots and onto your mid-lengths, working in sections which will help create thicker locks that are full of movement’.

Our advice: The level of hold achieved with fine hair all depends on your style. You should ideally opt for a style with very few layers. Your aim should be to avoid thinning any areas of your look, especially the ends which can appear wispy and flyaway.
