French braids: get yours looking fabulous

Discover how to transform your regular French braids into a chic and simple-to-style look. What are you waiting for?

The trend. This look was spotted on the Dany Tabet Spring-Summer 2015 runway. Hair was secured into neat French braids at the roots whilst lengths were gathered into a low chignon, meaning models faces were instantly opened up. This hairstyle is sophisticated and adds a touch of personality to any outfit.

Who can wear French braids? Anybody who wants to stand out from the crowd with an on-trend up do, without compromising on elegance. French braids are timeless and never go out of style whilst also adding some intrigue to your look. Keep your braids in for a couple of days, then loosen to reveal classic waves.

Get the runway look. Start by working with clean hair that has been dried and de-tangled. Next, divide your hair into several sections, concentrating on the upper section and braid right down to the ends. If you’ve never styled multiple braids before, it’s relatively straight forward. Divide each section into three separate sections, weaving the outer section over the center piece, repeating on either side. Repeat this for each of your sections, each time incorporating new strands. Finally, gather all of your braids into a low chignon, misting with a layer of hairspray to set your style in place.
