Fashion Week Find: messy curls

The messy look is a must-have for this season, creating an effortless vibe that is more on trend than ever right now. Ever thought about pairing this updo with curls? Let’s take a closer look.

The trend. This style was spotted on the Antipodium Spring-Summer 2015 runway at London Fashion Week. Model’s hair was curly and secured into a messy chignon. Several strands hung loose around the nape of the neck to complete the mussed-up vibe. Volume was focused onto the top of the style whilst the face was opened up thanks to this updo. This look is ideal for adding a rebel-chic feel to your style that is both relaxed and on-trend.

Get the runway look. Take direct inspiration from the runway and opt for a natural make-up look. To do this, choose a lightweight base, add a few coats of mascara and add a slick of nude lipstick. Nail the look with an elegant outfit in colorful printed pieces. This playsuit is perfect for a daytime look when you want to look chic without going overboard. Simplicity is everything.

Step-by-step tutorial. Start by washing hair with Curl Therapy shampoo. Your aim should be to define your curls and create definition. Dry with a diffuser to maximize volume, then gather on top of your head and secure into a messy bun. Next, gently tease your updo to make it looser, allowing a few strands to fall loose around your face. Complete the look with a layer of hairspray and voila!
