Autumn-Winter 2012 hair colours

Apart from a few eccentricities seen on the catwalks for this new season, classic colours seem to be on their way back in. But classic is by no means dull and characterless! Discover the must-have colours for this A/W season.

Ice blond. Lighter and brighter than your classic blonde, this season it’s all about ice blonde. This colour is an almost white tone of blonde, but don’t worry, it’s far from the shade you’d expect to see your grandmother sporting! Treat yourself to light, icy shades for an ultra-seductive arctic style. Wear on short hair for a glam-rock look or on a wavy bob for a touch of retro chic.

Chocolate brown. Brunettes should try chocolate or caramel shades for a downright delectable colour. To add depth, ask for subtle, natural-looking highlights. A lighter brown will soften your features. For a glamorous look, wear this colour on long, gently waved hair.

Red. We love the sensual, provocative edge that this colour produces… But it must be worn with conviction! This colour doesn’t suit everyone, so it’s best to opt for a subtle shade – copper rather than orange, or mahogany rather than red!

Two-tone hair. Spotted on a number of catwalks, including Prada, two-tone hair has replaced highlights. For this latest hair trend, hair is sectioned off horizontally into two different coloured sections. But is may be a good idea to wait and see if this style takes off before trying it on yourself!
