A closer look at the tweed ponytail

The Chanel Autumn-Winter 2014 prêt-à-porter runway was an unforgettable show. The fashion house never fails to impress with its catwalk trends, however, its most recent collection was extremely popular thanks to original hairstyles, perfect for fall.

Not many designers, except Karl Lagerfeld of course, could give tweed such a rebel feel. Here, each model was styled with a voluminous ponytail with strands of tweed material to accessorise. From a distance, the woven fabric almost looks like dreadlocks. The mixture of the brand’s luxury image and a grungy hairstyle was quite a daring choice.

Want to recreate this look? There are a few ways to do this. You can attach a few strips of tweed material to your ponytail, allowing each one to blend into your lengths. Or, for a more individual interpretation of the Chanel styles, why not create small braids within your ponytail, incorporating small strands of tweed? This look is simple to create, but looks much more complicated. Prefect for the cooler months!
