With the Double Me collection, Jean Louis David has completely reinvented each haircut with bold styling techniques to reveal their multi-faceted nature. The perfect opportunity to create an original updo with a secret side which you can get from the Style Bar in 15 minutes for just €15!
This hairstyle is made up of two ponytails each enhanced with a braid, placed on the side of the head. This creates an intricate look on one side and a minimalist look on the other.
To create this double-sided hairstyle, your stylist will start by blow-drying your hair straight. Then, they will separate it into 3 sections. To do this, they will mark out a side parting on the left-hand side which determines where the first plait will lie. Then, your stylist will split the rest of the hair into two equal sections. They will take the middle section and will form a simple inverted plait slightly right of centre. The plait starts at the roots and continues until it reaches midway down the head. Then your stylist will tie up the braid to form a ponytail.
Then, the stylist does the same with the right-hand section. They will ensure that the base of the second plait is placed directly underneath the first one, at the nape of the neck. Then the loose locks are tied up with the first ponytail. The hair is gathered towards the back (straightened at the front) to pad out the ponytail. Then, it is tied up with a hairband. Your stylist will then wrap a section of hair around each hairband to conceal them. Finally, the locks are softened with curling tongs to give them extra shine.
Designed for long hair, this double-sided hairstyle suits fans of minimalistic looks in search of a more elaborate style, and those who love romantic hairstyles.
With braids which are full of depth and glossy locks, this up-do showcases the subtle highlights of the colouring treatment used, a key theme this season.
This ponytail, which conceals its double-sided trick to perfection, is ideal for effortlessly standing out either at a party or at the office!
