5 tips for enhancing your naturally blonde hair

Just because you have naturally blonde hair does not mean you do not need to maintain it. This is even more the case because over time, this colour has a tendency to go dull and even yellow. Fortunately, here are 5 tips to enhance your blonde locks.

1 – Use targeted treatments

Finer than brunette hair, and as a result much more fragile, blonde hair needs to be deeply hydrated and nourished. Your best allies? The products from Jean Louis David’s Go Blondie range, formulated from sapphire powder. These precious treatments boost your colour’s radiant shine and help strengthen the hair fibre. Finally, to brighten up your colour, consider alternating these products with anti-yellowing treatments made up of violet pigments, such as those from the Silver Therapy range.

2 – Cut out limescale in hard water

Limescale is naturally present in hard water and tends to make blonde hair become dull. To get back your hair’s radiant shine, add a small amount of cider vinegar or lemon juice to the water you rinse your products out with. A fool proof grandmother’s tip, that’s sure to improve your hair’s radiant shine.

3 – Brighten up your colour

Are your locks looking dull? Revive your colour with a Contrast treatment. This exclusive Jean Louis David technique was specifically designed to give a sun-kissed effect to blonde hair.

4 – Avoid using heated styling tools

As blonde hair is more fragile than other hair types, it cannot withstand being exposed to extremely high temperatures. If you cannot go without your hairdryer or straighteners, ensure you protect your locks by applying a heat protection spray. Finally, make sure you put your appliances on a low power setting.

5 – Protect your colour from UVs

Extremely sensitive to external damaging factors, blonde hair requires sun protection. Either in the form of an oil or a cream, these products, packed full of UV filters and antioxidants, act as a barrier to protect your hair from the sun’s harmful effects.
