Hairstyle

3 styles for mid-length, voluminous hair

Creating voluminous hair is the main game for many women, however it can sometimes be difficult to achieve. The good news? Even women with mid-length hair who complain of flat roots will be able to create body and volume thanks to this season’s on-trend styles.

50s inspired volume. Nothing beats a hairstyle that was once worn by a 50s icon. Be it Marilyn Monroe or Grace Kelly, all these women wore big, voluminous hair. Take direct inspiration from their heyday and the Dsquared2 runway (pictured) by backcombing your roots and mastering English curls. Start by backcombing your roots and covering your hair in plenty of hairspray. Next, tong hair to create romantic, on-trend waves for a style that will last all day long.

The half ponytailThis style is your new best friends when it comes to creating body and volume. Mid length styles are perfect for the half-ponytail, whilst a few bobby pins at the rear are all it takes to create this look. Before styling, try backcombing your roots to create maximum volume. Afterwards, gather hair from the centre crown-area of your style and comb backwards. Secure with the help of a couple of bobby pins, then spray with hairspray for a long-lasting hold.

The parting-free style. This look is oh-so simple to re-create at home and gives your hair added movement and fullness. Begin once again by backcombing the roots, in order to add volume. You should be aiming to create a wow-factor mane effect. Turn your head upside down and comb your hair backwards for a Hollywood-worthy style. Get ready to wow!
