2015’s take on the faux bob

Being able to create the illusion of short hair despite having long lengths has become the ‘it’ style amongst fashionistas and is this year’s must-try hairstyle. The look was spotted all over the Tsumori Chisato Spring-Summer 2015 runway recently at Paris Fashion Week. Want to know more?

Both on-trend and practical, this style is ideal for anybody wanting to shake up their look without reaching for the dreaded scissors! Face-on, no one would know you didn’t have the real thing. However, your hair will need to be a certain length to nail the illusion. To replicate the catwalk hairstyle for yourselves at home, start with freshly washed hair that has been treated to Hydration and Suppleness shampoo from the Oil Therapy range to strengthen and add shine. Next, dry and untangle carefully. Part your hair in the centre and smooth the front sections down with a small amount of gel. You can then secure your lengths into a low slung-ponytail that is rounded slightly, overlapping the ears. To finish, spray all over with hairspray for a long-lasting hold.

On the Tsumori Chisato runway, the faux bob was paired with statement make-up, especially when it came to the eyes. A smoky, purple lid and sleek eyeliner intensely defined the model’s peepers. Pink, flushed cheeks contrasted nicely with nude lips. The result? A super-achievable, yet mysterious look complemented by loose fabrics in splashes of vibrant color.
