Spring hair accessories

During winter, we tend to wear hats more and focus less on hair accessories. However, as the warmer weather starts to approach, headbands and other accessories make it back into our wardrobes. For spring 2014, hair accessories get a major revamp, perfect for creating a new style or look.

The ribbon. The braid is one of the most popular hairstyles come spring-summer. Whether you wear yours sleek, simple or even messy, you may feel like there is something missing from your style. On the Calla runway, models wore ribbons in their hair. Nestled into each hairstyle, the ribbon is an easy way to update your look and add some personality.

The square turban. The turban is a classic hair accessory and a great alternative to wearing a cap. It protects your hair from the sun’s rays and gives you a chic appearance. The Derek Lam catwalk saw models wearing square turbans with loose, flowing hair. Don’t try to scoop all of your hair up into your turban, as this summer loose locks is what it’s all about if you want to replicate the glamorous yet modern take on this hair accessory.

The golden headband. All you need to add the perfect finishing touch to your wavy hair is a simple headband…but not just any old headband. This season, opt for a thin golden style which will sit nicely in your hair without overpowering your final look. The headband adds a chic touch to any hairstyle and can be worn for any occasion. Why not try wearing yours with a bohemian-chic inspired look?

The statement hair slide. This summer, more is definitely more when it comes to hair clips and slides! Opt for a hair slide to keep cool during the hotter months this year. Any hair slide will do. Try clipping back the front section with an elaborate clip design, or create a half up half down style with a slide. Hair slides are going to be one of this summer’s hottest accessories.
